The moon rose fuller each night. Luna had changed. Sammy saw it in the way she looked at the horizon — not with curiosity, but with knowing. Like she was hearing something… calling her. They swam side by side, just like they always had. But Luna’s eyes shimmered with more than light now. They shimmered with purpose. --- #### “It’s time,” Luna whispered one morning, her voice soft and steady. “Time for what?” Sammy asked, though something inside him already knew. “To return,” she said. “To the beach where I was born. To lay my eggs. It’s what female turtles do. It’s… who I am.” Sammy stared ahead, heart caught in the tide. They had faced storms. Lost cities. Laughter. Music. Magic. And now… a path that didn’t lead in the same direction. --- #### “I thought we’d always explore together,” Sammy admitted quietly. “So did I,” Luna said. “But the sea… it has seasons. And mine is calling.” Sammy looked down at the sand below. “Does this mean we’re… parting?” Luna touched her flipper to his. “For now. But love doesn’t end at the edge of a journey. It becomes part of the current.” She smiled. “And currents… they always circle back.” --- #### *A Farewell Without Goodbye* They swam together for miles, surrounded by hundreds of turtles all heading to distant shores. It was beautiful — a dance of instinct and tradition. Sammy watched Luna among them, glowing like the moon that had always guided her. As the beach neared, she turned to him one last time. “Sammy… you gave me strength in every tide.
