Palm Coast Historical Society & Museum Builds Momentum with New Leadership and Community Vision

PALM COAST, Fla. (June 28, 2026) – Palm Coast Local attended the Palm Coast Historical Society & Museum Executive Board Meeting on Saturday, June 27, 2026, where members gathered to celebrate local history milestones, welcome new leadership, and plan future community outreach initiatives.

New Board Appointments & Leadership Updates

A primary focus of the June 27 meeting was the official appointment of two prominent local figures to the Board of Directors:

• Caleb Hathaway: A local Palm Coast author, historian, and researcher with a background in preserving Florida’s regional history.

• Don Robertson: Former President of the Gainesville Raceway, retired law enforcement officer, and former Chair of the Alachua County Tourist Development Council. Robertson brings decades of administrative leadership and tourism development experience to the Society.

In addition to the new board members, the Executive Board confirmed Mery Gable as the organization's official Office Administrator, recognizing her long-standing operational dedication.

Distinguished Service Award Presented

During the meeting, Palm Coast Historical Society Treasurer Rich Cooper received the Distinguished Service Award. The honor recognizes Cooper's outstanding financial commitment and individual contributions to the preservation of Palm Coast's local heritage.

The Society also noted an influx of new general members, signaling a rising interest in local history preservation among Flagler County and Palm Coast residents.
