OVERVIEW
The Flagler County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and protecting the rich history and cultural heritage of the community through research, education, and public engagement. Focused on connecting residents and visitors with the stories that shaped the area, the Society plays an important role in keeping local history accessible and meaningful for future generations.
Visitors can explore the Historic Holden House Museum and access one of the most comprehensive historical records and research centers in the area through the Sisco-Dean Research Library. With resources like the Flagler County Time Traveler, Saving Our Heritage Papers, and Flagler Memories, the Society offers a deeper look into the people, places, and events that define the region’s past.
The FCHS was chartered as a Florida non-profit corporation on October 25, 1983, and is a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt organization. A Board of Directors is elected annually in January and usually meets monthly on the last Thursday of the month. Quarterly membership meetings are held at various locations in Flagler County.
