Palm Coast Enters “Extreme Water Shortage” Emergency as Drought Worsens

Palm Coast officials have issued an “extreme water shortage order”, tightening restrictions on irrigation and outdoor water use as drought conditions continue to intensify across the region.

The order marks one of the city’s strongest conservation measures in years. Residents are now limited to strict watering schedules, and certain non‑essential uses — including pressure washing and decorative fountain operation — may be temporarily suspended.

City leaders warn that enforcement will increase as water levels fall, urging residents to conserve wherever possible. Officials say the goal is to stabilize supply before summer demand peaks.
