What Does ALERTFlagler Do?
ALERTFlagler lets Flagler County residents customize how they receive emergency notifications. Alerts can be sent by text message, email, mobile phone, home phone or work phone, and users can choose the types of alerts they want to receive, including specific weather warnings.
Residents can also establish a Quiet Time for non-critical notifications. Critical emergency notifications can override those settings when immediate public safety information needs to be delivered.
Which Weather Alerts Should You Turn On?
Flagler County Emergency Management recommends residents enable at least four important weather alerts:
Flash Flood Warning
Issued when flash flooding is occurring or imminent.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Issued when a severe thunderstorm is occurring or imminent.
Tornado Warning
Issued when a tornado has been indicated by radar or observed.
Extreme Wind Warning
Used for an imminent threat of extreme winds, including dangerous winds associated with major hurricanes.
How Does ALERTFlagler Deliver Notifications?
When you register for ALERTFlagler, you provide contact information and location information so the system can deliver notifications according to your selected preferences.
This allows Flagler County to communicate severe weather warnings, evacuation information and other urgent local notifications directly to residents who may be affected.
