St. Augustine is a historic coastal city about 25 miles north of Palm Coast, roughly a 30-minute drive, in St. Johns County. Founded in 1565, it's the oldest city in America, known for the Castillo de San Marcos fort, the cobblestone streets of the historic district, horse-drawn carriage tours, ghost tours, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse. It's a favorite day trip for Palm Coasters, with plenty of concerts, festivals, art walks, and events throughout the year that Palm Coast doesn't host.
