(Flagler Beach, Fl) - PSA: Under Flagler Beach City Ordinance 5-27, "no animal shall be allowed on any public beach or public property or right-of-way unless the person having charge, care, custody, or control of such animal has the animal on a leash not exceeding eight feet in length". The fines for a first violation is $50. Additionally, per Ordinance 5-17 (c), "No dogs or other animals shall be permitted to be on the Atlantic Ocean beach within the corporate limits of the City, from North Tenth Street to South Tenth Street. All public approaches to the beach shall be posted. This subsection is not applicable to:

* Any animal that meets the definition of "service animal" under the Americans with Disabilities Act; or

* Any animal that is part of an exhibition or demonstration in conjunction with a permitted special event.

The fine for a first violation is $50.
