When Chris Eidlen and his family moved from New Jersey to Palm Coast, they were searching for more than a new address—they were looking for a fresh start, a better life for their young son, and a chance to build something meaningful. After spending 31 years in New Jersey and over a decade in commercial construction, Chris made the leap to a new career with a new home, blending his expertise with his desire to help others.
“I wanted something that would allow me to spend more time with my family while still using my construction knowledge,” Chris shared during our conversation. “When my son was born in 2023, it really put things into perspective. I wanted a career that aligned with my values and gave me the flexibility to be present for the moments that matter most.”
That career turned out to be home inspection, a field that allows Chris to put his extensive construction experience to work while also helping people during one of the most stressful times of their lives: buying a home.
“I’ve been a home buyer twice, and I know how overwhelming it can be,” Chris explained. “During our first home purchase, we discovered some major issues during the inspection process—hidden water damage and mold in the crawl space. That inspection saved us from a bad investment and gave us the confidence to walk away and find something better. I want to give others that same peace of mind.”

“We love the laid-back and friendly vibe here,” he said with a smile. “Some of our favorite things to do are spending the day at the beach or James Holland Park with our son, visiting the Farmers Market at European Village, and grabbing a bite to eat by the beach. It’s such a family-friendly community, and we’ve felt so welcomed here. Teaming up with Palm Coast Local has been beneficial in connecting with other businesses, and as a newcomer, I appreciate the warm welcome we’ve received from many.”
