Palm Coast Families Plant the Seeds of Tomorrow at Kids Garden Workshop
Palm Coast families came together on February 16, 2026, for an inspiring hands-on workshop hosted by The Garden Club at Palm Coast — an event designed to help children learn responsibility, environmental awareness, and the joy of growing something of their own.
Held at Club 51 (51 Old Kings Rd N., Palm Coast), the workshop welcomed parents, grandparents, and guardians alongside children ages 5–10 for a morning focused on creativity, teamwork, and connection.
Learning by Doing
Each child received a complete planting kit generously provided by The Home Depot - Palm Coast (10 Garden Street North, Palm Coast), coordinated by Kathryn Cosby.
Participants built their own plant stands, decorated them with stickers, and carefully planted seeds and starter plants to take home and nurture.
But this workshop was about more than gardening.
It encouraged families to work side-by-side — building, planting, and learning together. Parents guided small hands. Grandparents shared stories. Children asked questions. The experience created space for conversation about nature, responsibility, patience, and growth.
In a world often driven by screens and schedules, this event gave families something simple and meaningful: time together with purpose.
Growing More Than Plants
The workshop was thoughtfully organized by:
-
Kenetha Killmurray, Vice President; Speakers & Programs
-
Denise Garcia, President
-
Melondy Bosko, Bard Member; Publicity Chair
-
Carry Clark, Member & Volunteer
-
Eva Larsson, Member & Volunteer
Their collaborative effort helped create an environment where children didn’t just plant seeds — they planted confidence, curiosity, and care for the world around them.
When families garden together, they cultivate more than greenery. They cultivate teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility.
And that may be the most important growth of all.
